The SNES Superscope seemed to have been the Super Nintendo's answer to the popular NES Zapper. The Superscope was in essence a light gun controller. I never did own the Superscope, but I don't remember it being very popular. The number of games that it's compatible with is only a handful and mention of the SNES Superscope seemed to disappear for the most part after a few years All of those Superscope compatible games are listed below:

• Battle Clash
• Bazooka Blitzkrieg
• The Hunt for Red October
• Lamborghini American Challenge
• Lemmings 2: The Tribes
• Metal Combat: Falcon's Revenge
• Operation Thunderbolt
• Super Scope 6
• T2: The Arcade Game
• Tin Star
• X-Zone
• Yoshi's Safari

Although the Superscope didn't have nearly the popularity that it was expected to on the SNES console, the peripheral shows up on Super Smash Bros. games as a pretty nifty weapon. In fact, it's one of my favorite weapons to use. I can't help but think that if this peripheral had more games to support it after its release that it could've been a lot more popular than it was. So, the next time that you're wandering around and you happen to see this odd bazooka shaped device near a retro game section remember that it might the SNES Superscope.

Did anyone actually own one of these things?
